There has been a lot of comparision between facebook and google plus or the like button and +1 button.
One good difference i see is that Google is giving more flexibility and isnt guarding its kingdom like facebook is.
What if you wish to take a backup of your friends or photos on facebook ? I am sorry but there is no facility provided by facebook at this moment where you can click on a button and get what you want. Checkout the screenshot below for google plus :
