The Exisiting blogging softwares come with a basic utility and a default template.This is not enough.
What is Windows XP operating system without any softwares installed on it.What is a Television with no channels in it and what is Video game with no Plugin.Here is the Keyword : ‘PLUGIN’.
There are 100s of plugins available to manage and promote your BLOG.
For example if you are using WordPress for Blogs then you may find loads of plugins according to your need at :

You may also look for other features for your Blog by searching Goolge for “Your Blog provider” “Plugin keyword” “Your requirement here”.

Another important thing you have to do with your weblog is to have a unique theme/template.If you use the default theme/template provided with the blogging script then it will seem like your efforts towards the running of the blog and business is casual.

When it comes to blogs :

  • Quality > Quantity
  • Quality AND Quantity > Quality OR Quantity

Instead of making a weblog post entry once a day which consists of mere 4 lines it would be best if you make a post which has search engines something worth to index for.Well you can get indexed even if you make a smallest of post and do the blog and ping process but the poor quality of your post will actually hurt your position on the search engines.If you can write regular long content daily then there is nothing like it.The key here is regular and rich content that will bring the search engines and blog sites coming on to you rather than you asking them to come to you.YES, the search engines are looking for sites just like these which are regularly updating itself with quality.

Some Do’s :
1)Atleast blog 2 times a week and make sure you have something worth to blog about.
2)Best Adviced to keep auto pinging on with your blog post entries.
3)If you have a professional or business site then post on the days tuesday, wednesday and thursday.
4)If your site is personal then you can make posts on Friday , Saturday and Sunday.

Some Dont’s :
1)Do not make blogs just for the heck of it.
2)Do not spam on blogs.
3)Dont use copied, stale content on your blog.
4)Do not post wrong URLS.Check URLS of you blog before submitting the blog.

The RSS feed can be submitted to these search engines and your site will be indexed in minutes. No more waiting for your site to be indexed after you submit your site to google. You will be in these search engines within 3-5 days max. The tag that will help you here is the auto discovery. It is important that more and more users add your RSS feed to their MY Yahoo if you want to improve your existing rank on Yahoo.com. This remains same with the new MSN.com too.

Blogging and pinging

It is important to note that no blogging and pinging script or software alone will get you the million of hits you dream about. It is important to stick to the basics of having a quality content and then letting the indexers do their job. It is also important to keep updating the sites you need to ping. It is best to keep adding to the list and sites you need to ping as the blogging seen gets hotter. In the late nineties the Site submission software was really hot. What you had to do is just enter your Website URL in the textbox and then select the number of search engines you wish to submit to. Well the things have not changed much. The only difference is that instead of submitting the Website , you submit the RSS (Because for each blog there is an RSS).
You can search Goolge for such a tool or you can use the RSS submitter tool available with RSS solution package at Jvw.

Note : It is important that you do not keep submitting the RSS feed again and again.

One important thing that most bloggers forget is the use of important keywords in their meta-tags or using the meta tags in the first place. The auto blog installer installs the basic blog but it is important you build upon it and make sure you have meta tags for each post you make. This is very important for rankings in many search engines and directories like msn.com and dmoz.org.

Technorati.com is a site that indexes millions blogs.It is a blog search directory that monitors and indexes the growth of what they defined as the World Live Web.

The technorati tag is one such tag that will improve referral traffic to your site.Technorati tags are important because they give more relevant results.

The tags come from three sources. First, if you’ve uploaded a photo to Flickr and have tagged it (or if one of your friend has tagged it), it will show up under that tag at technorati. Second, if you’ve bookmarked a page using http://del.icio.us, it will show up under that tag at technorati. Third, if your blogging software supports categories, your blog posts will show up under the categories you’ve assigned; categories are now tags in the eyes of Technorati.

If your blogging software supports categories and RSS/Atom (like Movable Type, WordPress, TypePad, Blogware, Radio), just use the included category system and make sure you are publishing autodiscovered RSS/Atom and technorati will automatically include tags with your posts! Your categories will be read as tags.

Trackbacks are used to continue a discussion on someone else’s blog.
It is a method by which you can let people know that you have referenced someone else in your own blog(It is a method of person A saying to person B, “This is something you may be interested in.” To do that, person A sends a TrackBack ping to person B).

Imagine that you have written about a software on your blog.Someone visits your blog and reads this particular entry and likes what is written, he can make a comment on it but he wants to keep the conversation going so instead of comments he uses the trackback feature.
One reference will show trackback as “TrackBack(1)”

With this you can also see as to who is talking about your post.This is becoming more and more popular because of the comment spam on blogs.

It is best to offer your readers what they want rather then just giving what you have to give.You can offer RSS url to the people who love to read news in this format because they do not like to give their email id out.You can also add a newsletter subscription box to the people who still prefer reading latest news and updates though the use of email.This way you can target both types of audiences.

B)Old but effective technique of ADD ME

A)Blogging page no different from a website page.
Many Bloggers believe that posting blogs regularly is the best and only way to get the blog promotion.While posting a blog entry they forget that the resulting page will be no different than the html and php webpages they used to create for their website.The basic SEO rules for the blog page is same for a page created in html or asp or any other language.It is therefore necessary to give importance to tags and links while making a blog entry.Example :
-Keep the title small.Make sure it includes the keyword you think your users will use while make a serach.
-Use and tags to your keyword in the page.
-Make sure you use well anchored text with keyword and that no links go to a 404 page not found.If a page is not available make sure that the 404 goes to sitemap page or notifies user of the problem.
-Make the content rich and big in size(do not keep it small) and make sure that there is no keyword spam in the blog entry.
-Use links to post on blogs on your website.Also allow the search facility so that users can search the blog from your website.

Note that the only advantage of a Blog over a simple page is that the blog will get indexed faster.

B)Blogging and pinging.
To get the best out of your blog you need to blog regularly.Make a schedule and try to stick to it.It is best to Blog everyday with fresh and rich content to get visitors rushing to your site.Although it is best adviced to blog on a daily basis it should be noted that blogging stale 5 line content will not help you in any way.It is therefore better that you are Blogging 2-3 time a week with new and rich content with properly formatted html.

Step1 – Understand podcast/podcasting :
A podcast is basically an audio file that is stored on the Internet that people can download to their computers , IPODS and MP3 players and listen to whenever and wherever they want to. Think of a podcast as a way to deliver any audio content to a large audience worldwide.

Step 2 – Podcast recording :
You have to get your message recorded using a mic. It is called podcast recording.You can either use your own voice or use a software like Jvw Podcast creator to use text to voice conversion for your podcasts. You can use articles, ebooks, lyrics, poems, white papers, tutorials, press releases, emails, business letters and more.

Step 3 – Create RSS feed for podcast :
You can create a simple Rss feed for your podcast with Enclosure url using a text editing software or use a podcast recording software. Make sure you make the feed itunes compatible. A simple Enclosure tag for podcast would look like this :

Step 4 – Validate your podcast

Step 5- Submit your podcast

Best way to search engine promotion is to writing fresh content.

So the question is where do you get new and fresh content regularly to be able to attract the search engine spiders and improve your website ranking the easiest way.

The answer is simple – Just check your HARD DRIVE !

Sounds stupid ?

I will show you ways that can prove my point.

To put weight on my point i did a search on http://www.google.com to check the number of words typed by a computer user at an average.

The number was BIG !

So where does all this typing go to ?

Dont ask me – YOU think about it !

Here is my advice. Just keep note of what all typing you are doing on your computer throughout the day, the advice you are giving away to people. I recently found out that much of free advice i am giving away to people can be used as content for my own site or BLOG. I started extracting my own advice (yes my own typed text) from :

  • Various Forums i visited.
  • Blog comments i used to make.
  • My chat logs from Yahoo and MSN messenger.
  • My sent items folder.
  • Chat room messages I visited (Web design channel, windows talk, etc).You can keep logs of messages for your instant messenger by opting for the always save chat messages options in Yahoo and MSN messenger.

    Always keep this in mind – Always give advice or type something which is some WORTH !
